Bones and Coins 100% Achievement Guide
Finish the ending and every Steam achievement without missing the post-credits cleanup.
A 100% save can still have work left after the Final Gate. Bones and Coins has 50 Steam achievements, and several of the longest counters run separately from the ending. Start Expeditions and ability use early, protect Blacksmith materials, and let each dungeon unlock advance more than one requirement. This guide covers the PC launch build released on September 7, 2026.
Start the counters that cannot be rushed later
Your first goal is to make ordinary progression count toward the slow achievements. Do not save ability use, Expeditions, or chest farming for after the ending. They can run while you open rooms, recruit heroes, and buy the upgrades you already need.
| Counter | Steam milestones | What to do during progression |
|---|---|---|
| Looting sessions | 50, 100, 250 | Keep playing full, useful runs instead of waiting for the ending to grind No Rest for the Guild. |
| Enemy kills | 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 | Raise the room’s population when your party is clearing faster than new enemies appear. |
| Ability uses | 100, 1,000 | Test each ability manually, then leave automatic use on when wasted casts no longer matter. |
| Total coins | 100,000; 1,000,000; 500,000,000 | Raise the value of the coin your next purchase needs, and keep enough enemies spawning to produce it. |
| Expedition coins | 1,000,000; 50,000,000 | Assign an unused hero as soon as Expeditions open and change the destination when your currency target changes. |
| Chests | 100 wooden; 1,000 golden | Buy chest support as it becomes affordable and collect chests during every normal run. |
| Damage in one session | 10,000; 100,000; 5,000,000 | Your normal weapon, party, and room upgrades should cover the first two. Chase Kingbreaker later only if 5,000,000 damage is still missing. |
The 250-session target deserves special attention. In a full-build playthrough, the Final Gate opened after 249 sessions. The ending did not award the remaining session automatically, so the player returned to the save with No Rest for the Guild still unfinished.
Buy the upgrade that fixes the current room
A fixed node order becomes stale as soon as costs change. The room itself gives you a better answer. Watch what happens during one full torch cycle, then spend against the obvious limit.
- If the floor empties while time remains, add skeleton capacity or spawning.
- If enemies survive long enough to crowd the room, improve attack coverage, damage, a weapon, or the active party.
- If useful branches are opening too slowly, invest in XP.
- If one purchase is several runs away, strengthen the matching coin income before buying unrelated nodes.
- If items are dropping but crafting has stalled, check the required enemy and item chance before adding more raw damage.
Session duration is strongest after the room can keep producing targets. Extra seconds add little when the party spends the end of every run waiting. Once spawn rate and the skeleton limit can support the longer timer, duration helps the kill, coin, chest, and ability counters together.
Follow the room names in Steam’s achievement list
The official achievements give a clean sequence for the seven unlockable rooms:
- Rusty Mines — First unlock after starting room.
- Crystal Hollows — Second room with crystal-themed enemies.
- Buried Catacombs — Third room, denser packs.
- Swamped Crypt — Fourth room with swamp variants.
- Altar of Ashes — Fifth room, higher health pools.
- Obsidian Caverns — Sixth room, aggressive enemies.
- Sanctum of the Dead King — Final unlockable room.
Move forward when the party can clear the present room without spending most of the torch on a few survivors. If the next room drops your income sharply, step back for a weapon, party upgrade, or the currency you left behind. Older rooms remain useful when a Skill Tree node costs an earlier coin or a weapon needs an item from an earlier enemy.
Each room also has its own level. Dungeon Master asks you to max any one room, not every room. Pick a room you already revisit for coins, kills, or materials so its XP rises during useful farming rather than in a separate grind.
Open the Blacksmith before selling items
Iron Forge requires all 16 weapons. Coins alone will not finish that job because weapons can also ask for enemy drops. Before selling anything, inspect the next locked weapon and note both its currency and material requirements.
- Choose the next weapon that would noticeably improve clear speed or attack coverage.
- Check its item requirement in the Blacksmith.
- Use the Dungeon screen to find a room containing the relevant enemy.
- Keep the required quantity in Inventory and sell only the surplus.
- Forge the weapon, then test its attack pattern in a crowded room before spending heavily on matching upgrades.
Recruit all six heroes without starving Expeditions
The release achievements name the five later hero unlocks: Ranger, Shaman, Pyromancer, Paladin, and Crusader. Start with Barbarian as the foundation. Hero completion includes more than recruitment: you also need every party slot for Full Party, level 100 in the Guild, and maximum level on at least one hero for Chosen Champion. Level the heroes who are doing the farming. Put spare points into the character you plan to max or into upgrades that help the whole party.
Once you send a hero on an Expedition, that character leaves the active party. Heroes also gain their individual Expedition bonus at level 3. Send someone you can afford to lose from combat, and check the active room afterward. If kill speed collapses, the passive reward is costing more than it earns.
Start this well before cleanup. Profitable Journey needs 50,000,000 Expedition coins, while Master Expedition asks for every Expedition upgrade. Both can remain incomplete after the ending even when the active party has already earned hundreds of millions.
The Final Gate is the ending, not the 100% lock
You Broke the Dungeon unlocks for completing the ending sequence. The player opened the Final Gate before buying every Skill Tree upgrade, unlocking every ability, or maxing the Expedition system. That means a closed gate should not be diagnosed as “the whole tree is incomplete” without checking the live node and its displayed cost.
The same recording returned to the existing tree after the ending and offered a Keep Looting option. Five achievements were still missing:
- No Rest for the Guild — play 250 looting sessions
- Profitable Journey — loot 50,000,000 total coins from Expeditions
- Master Expedition — max all Expedition upgrades
- Perfection — purchase every Skill Tree upgrade
- Full Arsenal — unlock all abilities
That is a useful cleanup warning, not a promise that every future patch will present the gate in exactly the same way. Read any confirmation shown by your client and keep a Steam Cloud or local save available before a major update.
Check all 50 achievements by system
Steam sorts the achievements by global completion rate, which makes a save audit awkward. This grouped list is faster when you are looking for the system that still needs work.
| System | Achievements and requirements |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Rusty Mines, Crystal Hollows, Buried Catacombs, Swamped Crypt, Altar of Ashes, Obsidian Caverns, and Sanctum of the Dead King for their room unlocks; Dungeon Master for maxing any room. |
| Heroes and Guild | First Recruit; the Ranger, Shaman, Pyromancer, Paladin, and Crusader unlocks; Full Party; Guild Complete; Guild Level 5, Guild Level 50, and Guild Level 100; and Chosen Champion for maxing one hero. |
| Skill Tree and abilities | First Steps; Purchase Some Skills at 25; Numbers Go Up at 100; Perfection for the whole tree; First Spell; Double Cast; Full Arsenal; plus Spell Practice at 100 uses and Arcane Habit at 1,000. |
| Expeditions | Away Team at 1,000,000 Expedition coins; Profitable Journey at 50,000,000; and Master Expedition for all Expedition upgrades. |
| Combat | Skeleton Crew, Graveyard Shift, and The Floor Remembers at 1,000, 10,000, and 100,000 kills; Heavy Hit, Dungeon Breaker, and Kingbreaker at 10,000, 100,000, and 5,000,000 damage in one session. |
| Coins and chests | Pocket Change, Treasury Begins, and Dragon’s Hoard at 100,000, 1,000,000, and 500,000,000 total coins; Shinier Than Bronze for a new coin type; Minted Legend for all coin types; Splintered Spoils for 100 wooden chests; and Golden Appetite for 1,000 golden chests. |
| Sessions, weapons, ending | One More Run, Seasoned Delver, and No Rest for the Guild at 50, 100, and 250 sessions; Iron Forge for all weapons; and You Broke the Dungeon for the ending sequence. |
Use this order for the final cleanup
- Compare the Steam list with the grouped table and identify every unfinished counter.
- Keep Expeditions running toward the missing coin total while the active party works elsewhere.
- Farm a dense room for kills, chests, ability uses, and session damage at the same time.
- Return to the required room for any missing weapon material or older coin type.
- Finish hero levels, Guild level 100, all party slots, all abilities, every weapon, and the remaining Skill Tree nodes.
- If the ending is still missing, enter the Final Gate. If the gate is already complete, continue looting on the same save.
- Let Steam synchronize, then check the list again rather than assuming the in-game ending screen represents 100%.
The official launch post estimates roughly four to five hours for an optimized playthrough, but that is not a guaranteed 100% time. A route that reaches the Final Gate quickly can still be waiting on Expeditions, golden chests, 250 sessions, or the last system upgrades. Plan those counters from the beginning and the ending becomes a milestone on the route, not the start of a second grind.

What is the hardest achievement in Bones and Coins?
Dragon's Hoard (500,000,000 total coins) and Golden Appetite (1,000 golden chests) are the longest grinds. Start Expeditions early to work toward Profitable Journey while playing normally.
