Bones and Coins Party Planner
A practical slot table for launch week — no fake sixth-hero names.
This party planner is a decision table, not an app that pretends to simulate hidden stats. Bones and Coins does not publish a public DPS formula. What it does publish is a six-hero roster, five blessing slots per body, and four named kits from playtest and demo notes. Use the tables below before you buy another skill tree slot or dump rare coins in the Guild.
If you want the philosophy, read party building. If you want ranks, read the hero tier list and build tier list. This page is the cheat sheet you keep open while the torch is running.
Default slot fill
| Slot | Hire | Job | Buy the slot when |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Barbarian | Hold the pack | After spawn count and coin value |
| 2 | Shaman | 50% next-hit mark | After Barbarian lives through a torch |
| 3 | Bowman / Archer | Execute and extra arrows | After marks are landing |
| 4 | Wizard | Backline caster (kit unpublished) | After End Looting happens early |
| 5–6 | Unnamed full-release heroes | Fill a hole, do not duplicate | After rooms are already dense |
Never fill slot 5 because the tree offered it. Capacity without income is a crowd that starves. Getting Started is the buy order that feeds this table.
Comp picker
| Your problem | Comp to run | What not to do |
|---|---|---|
| First hour, one slot | Barbarian only | Hiring a caster first |
| Packs live too long | Barbarian + Shaman | Second melee |
| Torch expires on leftovers | Add Bowman | More weapon-area nodes only |
| Inventory filling with exclusives | Same loot core, buy item-chance | Selling uniques for copper |
| New room feels empty | Stay, train room XP | Unlocking a third catacomb |
| Wizard just dropped | Barbarian + Shaman + Wizard test | Replacing Shaman |
| Expedition wrecks you | Bless the tank, then the mark | Buying a sixth body blindly |
Pre-spend checklist
Run this before any rare-currency click:
- Is spawn count bought at least twice? If no, the planner says tree, not Guild.
- Is the current dungeon room XP bar moving? If no, stay.
- Does the new hire add a role the table lacks? If they are a second Barbarian in spirit, skip.
- Will this blessing duplicate a global tree node? If yes, skip.
- Does the weapon match the body (fast melee / projectiles / mark speed)? If not, park the craft.
- Can you explain the spend in one sentence that includes the word “loot”? If the sentence is “it looks cool,” wait.
How to use DPS portraits without lying to yourself
The left-side combat HUD shows a DPS number per hero. Marks do not always show as Shaman personal damage. If Bowman leads the parse, that can mean the pack is marked and he is executing — a success, not a reason to fire the support. If Barbarian is at zero, he is dead or stuck; that is a durability or pathing problem v0.8.0 already tried to fix with faster heroes, not a tier-list emergency.
Planner for the two unnamed heroes
When the Guild finally shows heroes five and six, drop them into the table by job:
- Extra tank → only if Barbarian is actually dying, not if you are bored.
- Extra mark → compare to Shaman, keep one.
- Extra ranged → compare to Bowman, keep the one that executes.
- Specialist (loot aura, room bonus, Expedition tax) → slot 5, never slot 1.
Write the job in your own notes. This wiki will name them when official text does. Until then the planner’s job is to stop you from burning the loot pile on a duplicate.

There is no in-game controller overlay to document beyond mouse hover; How to Play is that overlay. There is no redeem-code form. There is a links page for Steam, the demo app, and publisher channels, and an updates hub for patch text. Use those. This planner stays a table so it cannot drift into a fake calculator.
Print coins, fill roles, bless last. That is the whole tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What party should I start in the planner?
Barbarian in slot one, Shaman in slot two, Bowman in slot three. That is the default row and the S-tier build.
When do I add the Wizard in this planner?
Slot four, after End Looting already happens early with the core three. Test one torch before blessing him.
Why does this tool not include damage numbers?
Troyd Games has not published a public formula. Fake calculators would be fiction. Use in-game DPS portraits as a hint only.
Where do I recruit and bless after I pick a row?
Guild tab. Slots come from the skill tree. Blessings are covered on the blessings page.
