Bones and Coins — Day One Patch
Hero Resets shipped 8 September 2026. First post-launch balance notes.
The Day One patch landed on 8 September 2026, one day after the Steam launch. Developer Kemal posted the notes on Steam Community under the title Hero Resets! — that exclamation mark set the tone. This page covers what changed and what it means for launch-week progress. For the launch box contents, see launch notes. For the demo history that built up to 1.0, see demo patch notes.
What shipped
The Steam Community post opened with a thank-you: nearly 300 Steam reviews, both positive and negative, and a promise that the team was reading all of them. The Day One patch itself shipped with one named feature:
- Hero Resets — the ability to reset a hero’s level and reclaim the invested resources.
That feature was not in the 7 September 2026 launch box notes. It arrived the next morning as a direct response to launch-week feedback. If you already spent Guild experience on a hero whose role changed after your first impression, the reset button is now available.
The rest of the post was a listening note: “We’ve been reading your reviews, both positive and negative, and taking notes. Your feedback is helping us identify what needs improving, make changes, and consider what comes next.”
What this means for progress
A hero reset returns the Guild XP spent on that character. Party slots, blessing investments, and weapon assignments are separate systems — check the Guild UI for exactly what gets returned versus what stays. If you hired Barbarian and immediately regretted the path, the reset is in the hero panel.
This patch also signals that post-launch support is active. The game shipped with a 25% launch discount and a small Positive review sample. The Day One patch arriving 24 hours after launch is a data point: the Troyd Games team is watching the live copy and responding quickly to the first wave of player feedback.
The hero reset feature is especially useful in the first hours of play, when early Guild XP decisions feel irreversible. If you chose a damage path for Barbarian before discovering that your party needed a tank, or if you assigned blessing slots before understanding the mark mechanic, the reset lets you recover that investment without losing your torch timer or dungeon room progress.
What was not in this patch
No balance changes to Shaman marks, no skeleton cap adjustments, no new heroes, and no new dungeon rooms. The post said the team was still reading reviews and taking notes. A second post with balance changes had not shipped at the time this wiki went to press. Players who completed the game and reached the Final Gate reported session counts between 240 and 260, which aligns with the four-to-five-hour estimate in official marketing.
What to do next
- If you overspent Guild XP on the wrong hero, use the reset before your next torch run.
- If the party is working, do not reset for experimentation — wait for a patch note that names a change.
- Bookmark Updates for the next post.
Patch notes that change blessing counts, hero speed, or mark multipliers will get their own entries here. Until then, the hero reset is the Day One feature that changes how you spend early Guild XP.
